Anthro-what-metry? Part 2: Getting Workers into Their "Ergonomic Comfort Zones" - Reach Distances
Fitting the workstation to the worker is often overlooked, particularly during the development of industrial machinery and conveyors. Engineers and other members of the design team are not ergonomists and, as a result, sometimes equipment is designed, tested and implemented with 'fit' issues for the users. In a perfect world, work surfaces be set up in ways that help workers avoid awkward postures that can lead to injury risk.
A continuation of last month's webinar, part two focuses on finding the ideal distance from their work surface and tools, to help them avoid over-reaching, bending, and twisting.
