A Case Study: Why Invest in Ergonomics
Why Invest in Ergonomics?
A strong ergonomics program within your workplace may provide a return on investment that many companies and employers fail to see. Without knowledge or regard for the direct and indirect costs of a workplace injury, many companies may view ergonomics as a significant expense and up-front cost with little return. However, whether from a reactive (i.e. due to an injury) or proactive approach, implementation of a sound ergonomics program may be well worth your investment.
The direct costs are often clear; medical and treatment expenses, employee’s lost wages, and any applicable penalties (e.g. Ministry of Labour fines). But the indirect costs including lost production, training of replacement staff, and investigation and reporting time, may be overlooked and can significantly inflate the overall injury cost to the company.
This case study webinar will focus on two of PROergonomics client’s ergonomics programs. Specifically, we will delve into the scope of their project, the associated costs, and how they calculated return on investment following implementation of their program.
