Held to a Higher Standard: Ergonomic Tools

Often, a task cannot be done, or at least done well, using only our bare hands. The simple solution is to use a hand or power tool to increase efficiency, increase the force one can generate or increase reach distance.

The problem is that the physical function of the tool is often considered before looking at its ergonomic benefits. The way the employee interacts with the tool in terms of posture, vibration to the body, hand positioning, grip force required, etc. are all factors that will also ‘make or break’ the success of a tool in the workplace by increasing usage and reducing injury.

Choosing the right tool for the task AND the worker is key to a successful purchase.

This month’s webinar will explore the various proponents to consider when selecting a tool and how to implement a sustainable initiative to help you select the ergonomically correct tool moving forwards.
