WSIB Bill 127 - January 1, 2018: Do you know about it? Are you prepared?

How claims for chronic and traumatic stress will impact your RTW program.

After last year's changes to the WSIB legislation involving Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for First Responders; WSIB is yet again looking to be more inclusive of mental health claims and has drafted a policy entitling workers to benefits for traumatic or chronic mental stress arising out of, and in the course of, the worker's employment (WSIB, Draft CTMS Policy May 4, 2017).

Previous changes had little impact for those companies outside of municipal and/or healthcare organizations however this new policy will impact every employer across the province and potentially change how you, as Human Resources Professionals, manage your claims.

Join PROergonomics consultant, Alexandra Stinson, who will be reviewing the policy and discussing the steps you can take to ensure that chronic and traumatic stress claims can be addressed in your current Early and Safe Return to Work program. This breakout session will provide a practical component whereby participants will review possible options and/or changes that could be made to their current policies or program to ensure they are inclusive of the new Bill 127 and ready for January 2018.
